As a consequence of the energy crises in the seventies, the demand for fast acting
doors was aroused. Soon Seuster recognized those requirements and started with
the development of the first transparent high-speed door which was up to 20 times
faster than the industrial doors known so far.
In the year 1989 Seuster moved to its new plant in Lüdenscheid’s industrial
estate Freisenberg where nowadays about 100 highly qualified employees manufacture
Seuster doors on a total production area of 15,000 m². Sale and distribution
of the doors is carried out nationally (including installation) and internationally
via the worldwide Hörmann organisation, which became a shareholder of Seuster
in 1998 as well. Since 2009 Seuster is a fully-fledged member of the Hörmann Group.
